You certainly found the perfect Monty Python clip. It is the people’s Front of Judea vs. the Judean People’s Front.

Nice article!

Do what they did in Scotland with the Governments onerous "hate speech" legislation. Citizens swamped them with complaints against politicians and media personalities, the same ones who promoted the legislation.

I'd launch endless lawsuits against solar & wind factories, hydrogen producers, long distance transmission lines for the wind & solar factories. Lawsuits against agrofuels, wood pellet producers and biomass burning electricity & heat plants.

A free-for-all. One things for sure, lawyers will be lovin this legislation. Lots of opportunities for energy pundits to give expert testimony. Here's your chance Pendreco, hire yourself out. Sadly though, the energy stooges who testify for the ultra-rich, slimy Malthusian ENGOs will make most of the cash.

At a time when Canada is suffering a productivity crisis, one has to wonder about how so much litigation is going to help lift us up? And yes, undoubtedly there will be "winners" even as society loses. Maybe we can have an App for this - I could offer my services to project manage the App development - I hear that pays well. That said, your anecdote on the Scottish reaction to their thin-end-of-the-wedge "hate speech" is heart-warming. we need more of this!

And don't forget lawsuits against big multi-nationals like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook who claim they're carbon neutral by buying carbon credits or RECs from Wind & Solar industrial producers. As if a kwh from some solar plant displaces a kwh from a coal power plant. In fact they are lying, they are all on avg grid mix same as any other power consumer, which may be up to 20% wind/solar. And the solar/wind producers often double sell their RECs to corporate & government/utilities, double counting. It's all a scam.

And don't forget the scam that agrofuels actually displace fossil.

And the scam that biomass burning is carbon neutral. That's a gargantuan scam in itself. Lots of lawsuits there, just waiting to be done.

My sense it is best to reject outright the fundamental premise that CO2 emissions are bad. There is no need to deliberately transition energy used by humans away from sources that emit CO2.

Excellent piece, Richard. Great examples of how C-59 impacts non O&G industries, including battery production (irony points!!!!).

The floodgates are open, first they will come for the O&G, but then - its open season.
